Mitsubishi Kagaku Media Co., Ltd. has entered into a license agreement with Sony Corporation to produce Professional DiscsTM for XDCAM systems and Media Storage Group will represent the XDCAM line.

XDCAM is a professional digital camera system developed by Sony. Since the introduction of the first XDCAM products in April 2003, the XDCAM format, which is based on blue-violet-laser recording onto optical discs, has become the de facto standard for news production and broadcasting throughout the world.
With the full support from Sony on the compatibility verification with XDCAM devices, MKM will start mass production of Professional Discs in the latter half of 2014.

Kodak Launches Super 8 Filmmaking Revival Initiative at CES 2016

On the heels of celebrating 50 years of manufacturing Super 8 film, Kodak is launching an initiative aimed at putting Super 8 cameras into the hands of a new generation of filmmakers as well as meeting the needs of top directors, indie filmmakers and others who appreciate the art and craft of filmmaking.

At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Kodak will kick off its Super 8 Revival Initiative with a display of an early prototype of a new Kodak Super 8 camera that combines the classic features of a Super 8 with digital functionality as well as opportunities for visitors to shoot their own Super 8 footage and watch home movies on the Kodak CES booth (South Hall #20618).

The Kodak Super 8 Revival Initiative reaches far beyond the introduction of a new camera. Peter Gruber, Mandalay CEO, to Keynote 2015 NAB Show Opening

Guber will deliver opening remarks during NAB Show’s keynote session

LAS VEGAS – Peter Guber, founder, chairman and CEO of Mandalay Entertainment Group, has been set to deliver the opening remarks of the 2015 NAB Show in Las Vegas. Guber will follow Gordon Smith’s, NAB president and CEO, “State of the Broadcast Industry” address on April 13.

Mandalay Entertainment Group is a multimedia enterprise involved in film, television, sports and digital media. Prior to Mandalay, Guber served as chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment, chairman and CEO of Polygram Entertainment, co-founder of Casablanca Record & Filmworks and president of Columbia Pictures. He also produced or executive produced films, including “Rain Man” (1988), “Batman” (1989) and “The Kids are All Right” (2010).

The 2015 NAB Show opening will also include the presentation of the NAB Distinguished Service Award to Jerry Lewis.

The 2015 NAB Show runs from April 11-16.
